"Texas Sex Offender Escapes Prison with Mother's Help, Recaptured in Matagorda County"
A convicted sex offender, Robert Yancy Jr., escaped from a prison in Texas using an employee badge given to him by his mother, Leonor Priestle, who was a former correctional officer. Yancy presented the badge as identification and walked out of the facility with his mother. He was captured 40 miles away after parkgoers recognized him and called authorities. Yancy's mother and her boyfriend were also arrested for their involvement in the escape. Yancy, who is serving a life sentence for sexual abuse of a child, will now face felony escape charges. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is investigating security processes to prevent future escapes.
