Ukraine's Challenger 2 tanks and Russia's reactivated T-55 tanks could potentially meet in combat. The Russian army is reportedly pulling out 70-year-old T-55 tanks from storage to use in the ongoing war in Ukraine, after running out of newer tanks. The T-55 is an upgraded version of the T-54, which was the Soviet Union's main tank after World War II. The tanks weigh 40 tons and have a minimally-stabilized 100-millimeter rifled main gun and 200-millimeter thick steel armor. The use of these outdated tanks is a testament to the violence of the Ukraine war and Russia's tactical and operational failures.
