Syrian migrant charged with attempted murder after French playground stabbing.
A Syrian refugee with permanent Swedish residency was charged with attempted murder and armed resistance after allegedly stabbing four young children and two adults at a playground in Annecy, France. The suspect, who has a 3-year-old daughter living in Sweden, refused to cooperate with investigators and remains in custody. The motive is unclear, but there is no proof that he was inspired by terrorism at this time. All victims are no longer in life-threatening condition. The suspect had applied for asylum in France but was rejected last week as he was already given asylum in Sweden.
