FBI Foils 13-Year-Old's Ohio Synagogue Mass Shooting Plot
A 13-year-old boy from Ohio has been charged with inducing panic and disorderly conduct after allegedly planning a mass shooting at a synagogue. The boy was reported to law enforcement by Discord, a messaging platform, after he created a detailed plan on the platform. Discord's Counter-Extremism analysts detected, removed, and reported the user to the FBI, leading to the arrest. The incident occurred before the Israel-Hamas war, which has seen an increase in hate crimes against Jews and Muslims in the US. The boy is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
