Tesla offers discounts and free supercharging to boost Q2 sales.

Tesla is offering discounts of $8,000 on its Model S and Model X cars and three years of free supercharging for customers who buy before June 30. The move is aimed at boosting sales before the end of the second quarter. Tesla has already cut prices six times this year as it battles big-name brands like Ford and GM. The latest price changes have made the vehicles more competitively priced compared to other manufacturers, and the price of the Tesla Model Y is now less than the price of an average car.

Ford Embraces Tesla Charging, Hits Jackpot in EV Market

Tesla is set to open part of its Supercharging network to non-Tesla electric vehicles in Canada later this year, with the pilot program expected to gradually expand across the country and include hundreds of charging stalls by the end of 2025. The move comes as the Canadian government announces plans to install nearly 3,000 new EV chargers across Ontario. Tesla will retrofit its existing Supercharging stalls with the Magic Dock built-in CCS1 adapter to allow non-Tesla EVs to use the network. Ford's recent announcement of a shift to Tesla's North American Charging Standard may also bring more brands on board.

Tesla Raises Model S/X Prices, Offers 3 Years of Free Supercharging

Tesla has increased the prices of its Model S and Model X vehicles by $2,500, but is also offering three years of free Supercharging to new buyers. The price increase applies to both the base Long Range version and the Plaid top performance version. The offer of free Supercharging is likely to be a bigger demand creator than the price cut, as Model S and Model X are the only Tesla vehicles that don't qualify for the new federal tax credit, which has contributed to a softening in demand for Tesla's flagship models.
