$44 Million Lotto Ticket in Florida Expires, Funds Education
A $44 million winning lottery ticket in Florida expired after no one claimed it, resulting in 80% of the unclaimed prize funds being transferred to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund to support the state's public education system. The remaining 20% will return to the prize pool. The winning ticket was purchased at a Sunoco Express in Kissimmee, and despite no winner coming forward, the gas station will still receive a percentage of the prize.
