The National Hurricane Center has identified an area of disorganized storms in the Atlantic Ocean between the Azores and the Canary Islands, with a 10% chance of development in the next two days and a 10% chance in the next seven days. The system could develop subtropical characteristics in the next couple of days, but is expected to move northeastward over cooler waters by late in the week, ending its chances of subtropical development. Tropical Storm Arlene dissipated over the weekend, marking the first named storm of the season.
