Alderson Broaddus Faces Closure as Operations Wind Down

The state Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC) has voted to revoke Alderson Broaddus University's authorization to confer degrees, effective December 31, 2023, and has directed the financially troubled school to wind down its operations. The fear was that the school would close mid-semester, leaving students without tuition, financial aid, or academic progress. Davis and Elkins College and West Virginia Wesleyan have already committed to accepting AB students.
