Paramount+ Unifies BET+ Library After Tyler Perry Stake Acquisition

Paramount Global will fold BET+ into Paramount+ beginning in June after acquiring Tyler Perry Studios’ minority stake in BET+. More than 1,000 hours of BET+ content, including Perry titles such as Ruthless, Divorced Sistas, All the Queen’s Men and Zatima (and Average Joe, Diarra from Detroit), will migrate to Paramount+, with BET content housed in the BET Hub. Direct BET+ subscribers will get discounts to join Paramount+, and the expanded library will reach Paramount+’s ~80 million subscribers, a major jump from BET+’s ~3.5 million direct subs. Perry will remain a partner under his programming agreement as Paramount seeks greater scale across its streaming platforms.
