Ad Agency Apologizes for Inappropriate Images in Tourism Video

Ad agency DDB Philippines has apologized for using "inappropriate" stock footage from Indonesia, the UAE, and Switzerland in a promotional video for a $900,000 tourism campaign supported by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The footage, which included images of rice terraces and sand dunes, was discovered by a Filipina blogger and subsequently confirmed by AFP. DDB has since removed the video from its Facebook page and called the use of stock footage a "highly inappropriate" oversight. Despite claims that public funds were not used for the campaign, criticism has been directed at the agency for the plagiarism.
