Google extends Stadia Controller conversion deadline, giving users more time to switch

Google's Stadia Controller Salvage operation, which converts the proprietary Stadia controllers to generic Bluetooth devices, will run for an additional year until December 31, 2024. The web-based updater allows the controllers to wirelessly connect to computers and phones, but once Google's website goes down, there will be no more controller updates. The Stadia service had lower sales than expected, resulting in a surplus of controllers. Despite the service being discontinued, the Stadia controller is still considered a solid buy, with its comfortable design and quality features, although audio features like the headphone jack and microphone won't work after the Bluetooth update.
