
Spring Creek Fire: Growing Threat in Western Colorado
The Spring Creek fire in western Colorado, south of Parachute, has reached 20% containment and remained roughly the same size despite hot, dry, and windy conditions. The fire is burning within a 2,859-acre area and has not grown further. Firefighters are utilizing air resources, including helicopters and retardant delivery aircraft, to assist in suppression efforts. No buildings have been burned, no evacuations have been ordered, and no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
