A singer-songwriter from Metro Atlanta is warning others about the dangers of spider bites after nearly losing his leg to a brown recluse spider. Gabe Lustman spent five days in the hospital receiving treatment for the bite, which caused his leg to turn red and purple. Doctors warned that if he had waited any longer to seek treatment, he could have lost his limb. Brown recluse spiders are small but can cause severe infections when disturbed. Lustman urges anyone who suspects they have been bitten to seek immediate medical help.
