Paqui LLC, the company behind the viral "One Chip Challenge," has removed its spicy chips from store shelves after a Massachusetts teen died following his participation in the challenge. The chips contain Carolina Reaper and Naga Viper peppers, which have extremely high doses of capsaicin, a potentially toxic substance. Experts warn that consuming such high doses of capsaicin can cause mouth and esophageal burns, stomach issues, nausea, vomiting, and even pneumonitis if it enters the lungs. The challenge also poses risks of choking and allergic reactions. Parents are urged to have open communication with their children about the dangers of participating in risky online challenges.
