Winter Wonderland: Snowstorms Blanket Northern China, Disrupting Travel and Delighting Tourists
A cold wave is sweeping across China, with temperatures expected to plummet over the next two days, particularly in the southern provinces. The cold snap, which has already affected northern regions, is moving southward, bringing unusually frigid weather for December. Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province, is expected to see temperatures drop from 16 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius within 24 hours. Southern areas could reach zero degrees Celsius, while provinces north of the Yellow River may experience temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius. In Beijing, temperatures are expected to reach minus 12 degrees Celsius, and major northeastern cities could see lows of minus 27 degrees Celsius. China has experienced extreme weather this year, which scientists attribute to climate change.
