Firewalk Studios unveiled a new cinematic and gameplay trailer for its 5v5 first-person shooter Concord at Sony's State of Play, announcing an August 23, 2024 release date. Set in Crater City, the game features a crew of misfits on a mission, with gameplay focusing on multiplayer action across various sci-fi worlds. Players can choose from 16 heroes with unique abilities, and the game will include regular cinematic vignettes to advance the story. A pre-launch beta is scheduled for July on PC and PS5.
Capcom has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds at Sony’s State of Play event, showcasing free-flowing combat, a dark world, and new monsters, including one resembling a Final Fantasy chocobo. The game, set in a "living world," is a follow-up to the 2018 hit Monster Hunter World and is slated for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2025.
With E3 canceled, there are still plenty of gaming events to look forward to this June, including IGN's Summer of Gaming, Guerilla Collective Showcase, Summer Game Fest, Future Games Show, Final Fantasy XVI Pre-Launch Celebration, Xbox Showcase, Starfield Direct, PC Gaming Show, Ubisoft Forward, Upload VR Showcase, Wholesome Direct, and possibly Nintendo Direct and Sony State of Play. Expect exclusive reveals, interviews, and gameplay footage from indies and big partners, as well as new surprises and tweaks to the show format.
Sony State of Play showcased Final Fantasy 16, revealing more about the game's world, Eikon battles, combat, base camp, and more. The game features epic battles between Eikons, which can be anything from a "3D scrolling shooter" to a "heavyweight wrestling match." Players will only play as Clive, but will have companions controlled by AI. Clive's hideout is a base camp filled with characters, side quests, shops, and more. Final Fantasy 16 will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023.
