Sonic employee arrested for adding cocaine to customer's hot dog.

An employee at a Sonic Drive-In in New Mexico was arrested after cocaine was found in a customer's hot dog. The illegal substance was inadvertently placed in the food as the employee, Jeffrey David Salazar, was preparing the order. Salazar faces a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance. He admitted to purchasing the cocaine from someone in the restaurant's parking lot.

Starbucks' new nugget ice causing customer division.

Starbucks is introducing nugget ice pellets in some stores this year, replacing their current non-uniform, thin ice cubes. The change is significant as 75% of the chain's beverage sales were from cold drinks. Nugget ice is a softer, easier-to-chew type of ice, and is used by Sonic Drive-In, Chick-fil-A, Which Wich, and others. While some customers are worried that the nugget ice would dilute in coffee drinks, Starbucks said most customers who have tried their beverages with the nugget ice pellets are fans.

12-year-old charged with murder in fatal shooting at Texas Sonic restaurant

A 12-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man have been charged with murder after the pre-teen allegedly shot and killed a Sonic Drive-In employee in Texas. The incident occurred after an argument between the employee and the man turned physical, leading the juvenile suspect, who was a passenger in the man's vehicle, to allegedly grab a gun and shoot the employee. The suspects fled the scene but were later arrested. The victim was airlifted to a hospital but was pronounced dead. The family of the victim has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs.

12-year-old charged with murder in fatal shooting at Texas Sonic restaurant

A 12-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man have been arrested on a murder warrant in the fatal shooting of a Sonic Drive-In employee in Keene, Texas. The boy shot and killed Matthew Davis, 32, after taking a gun from Angel Gomez's vehicle. Gomez and the boy fled the scene, but Gomez later returned and was arrested on a murder warrant and the boy was found and arrested in a nearby town. The boy used an AR-style rifle in the shooting. Formal charges have not been filed yet.
