Solidigm Unveils 122.88TB NVMe SSD for 2025 Release, Promising High Density and Efficiency

Solidigm has announced the launch of its D5-P5336 122.88TB NVMe SSD, set to ship in Q1 2025. This high-capacity SSD offers significant storage density and power efficiency, making it ideal for data centers and AI clusters. The drive fits in a standard U.2 form factor, allowing for up to 3PB of storage in a 2U 24-bay server. Despite concerns about write endurance on QLC SSDs, Solidigm assures that the endurance is sufficient for typical use cases. The new SSD is expected to compete with traditional hard drives on both density and efficiency.

Solidigm Launches High-Capacity QLC Data Center SSDs with TLC Performance at Affordable Prices.

Solidigm has introduced the D5-P5430, a QLC SSD that promises competitive read performance and higher endurance ratings compared to previous generation TLC drives from its competitors. The D5-P5430 uses a 4KB IU, unlike the D5-P5316's 16K IU, and is available in capacities up to 15.36 TB, with a 30 TB SKU slated to appear later this year. The Micron 6500 ION is the main competition for the D5-P5430, but the Solidigm drive wins out on the endurance aspect, with a 0.58 RDWPD for a QLC drive.
