To eliminate the lingering smell of cigarette smoke in homes, particularly on non-fabric surfaces, a combination of white vinegar and oranges can be used. The vinegar naturally eliminates odors, while the oranges provide a fresh citrus scent. Infusing the vinegar with orange fragrance can be done by steeping orange peels in vinegar or using orange essential oils. The solution can be sprayed onto hard surfaces and wiped clean to remove the smoke smell. However, it should not be used on porous materials like fabric.
