Tyre Nichols Honored with Renamed Sacramento Skate Park

Regency Community Skate Park in Sacramento has been renamed as the Tyre Nichols Skate Park in honor of Tyre Nichols, who died after being beaten by Memphis police officers during a traffic stop in January. Nichols developed his love of skateboarding and built strong friendships at the park. The Sacramento City Council announced the renaming in February during a celebration of life. The park has also been renovated in Nichols' honor, and organizers say it is the best way to honor the kind of person he was.

Tyre Nichols Honored with Skate Park Renaming in Natomas

A skate park in California has been named after Tyre Nichols, a Black man who was fatally beaten by police during a traffic stop in Memphis last January. Nichols, an avid skateboarder, spent much of his youth at the park on the outskirts of Sacramento. The newly renovated skate park was dedicated to Nichols, who died three days after the brutal attack by several police officers. Five Memphis officers have been charged with murder and other offenses in the death of the 29-year-old father and FedEx worker.

Missing Polk County Siblings Safely Located by Officials.

Two siblings, 8-year-old Zafira Serrano and 4-year-old Paul "PJ" Serrano, who disappeared from a skate park during a supervised visit with their biological parents have been safely located by Polk County sheriff's officials. An "endangered person advisory" was issued by the Iowa Department of Public Safety on Saturday morning, and the children were found on Saturday afternoon.
