China’s solo-living safety app Sileme, known as Are You Dead?, has gone viral and will rebrand globally as Demumu. The new version introduces an 8 yuan subscription to help cover costs, with pricing also listed as 8 Hong Kong dollars on the App Store. The app, which requires an emergency contact and sends auto check-in notifications after days of inactivity, targets solitary lifestyles and reflects China's large share of one-person households (estimates exceed 200 million).
