James Harden Brings Shooting Victim to Game 4 Win

James Harden, the star guard of the Philadelphia 76ers, met with John Hao, a paralyzed Michigan State shooting survivor who attended Game 4 as Harden’s guest. Harden scored 42 points, signed his sneakers, and gave them to Hao. The 20-year-old Hao and his parents had been invited by Harden to attend a 76ers game once he was available to travel. Before the game, Harden leaned into Hao and got small pats on the back before resuming his pregame drills.

James Harden fulfills promise, invites MSU shooting survivor to Game 4

James Harden invited John Hao, a paralyzed Michigan State shooting survivor, and his family to attend Game 4 of the Eastern Conference second-round series between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics. Harden had developed a long-distance FaceTime bond with Hao after learning that he was a fan and had donated sneakers and money to him. Hao wore Harden's No. 1 Sixers jersey and attended the game with his parents, watching from a club box at the Wells Fargo Center.

Virginia Spring Game Features Shooting Victim and Honors Three Players.

Virginia tailback Mike Hollins, who survived a gunshot wound to his stomach in a November shooting attack that killed three teammates, got the first touch of the Cavaliers' spring game Saturday to a standing ovation. Hollins rushed for 7 yards up the middle to cheers from supporters at Scott Stadium. He later scored a 1-yard touchdown into an end zone painted to memorialize his fallen teammates, Lavel Davis Jr., D'Sean Perry and Devin Chandler.

MSU shooting survivor speaks out at gun reform rally.

Troy Forbush, a survivor of the recent shooting at Michigan State University, spoke at a March For Our Lives rally in Lansing, Michigan, about his experience and called for change in gun reform laws. Forbush was shot twice in the chest during the shooting and spent a week in the ICU. He was the first victim to be released from the hospital. Forbush stated that the increased security measures the university has taken as a result of the shooting are not enough and called on elected officials to think about the people they love when voting for current and future gun safety bill packages.
