Conch Shell Blowing May Alleviate Sleep Apnea and Snoring

A study from India suggests that blowing a conch shell, a traditional yogic practice, can significantly reduce symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea by strengthening airway muscles, offering a low-cost alternative to standard treatments like CPAP machines. The research involved 30 participants practicing shankh blowing for six months, resulting in fewer breathing interruptions, better sleep quality, and reduced daytime sleepiness. Further larger studies are planned to validate these findings.
