Indictment of Former North Dakota Sen. Ray Holmberg on Federal Charges
Former North Dakota legislator Ray Holmberg has been indicted on federal charges, including allegations of traveling internationally to engage in sexual activities with minors. The indictment, unsealed on Monday, also accuses Holmberg of receiving or attempting to receive child pornography. The charges come after apparent connections were revealed between Holmberg and Nicholas James Morgan-Derosier, who recently pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges. The investigation uncovered text messages exchanged between the two men, and federal agents searched Holmberg's home, seizing several items. Holmberg resigned from his position as a legislator in mid-2022, ending his 45-year career in the North Dakota Legislature.
