Breaking the Cycle of Relationship Hopping
Serial monogamy is a phenomenon where individuals move from one relationship to another, leaving no room to recover from each breakup. This behavior is often caused by attachment problems or emotional immaturity. Serial monogamists have low self-esteem, are emotionally immature, and build relationships with little reciprocity and high selfishness. They often have a fear of abandonment and are quick to start a new relationship. Therapy, specifically attachment-based therapy, can help serial monogamists address their insecurities and fear of loneliness, and empower them with mature and healthy relational competencies.
