"Sengol: The Symbolic Centerpiece of India's New Parliament and Modi's Vision for Inclusive Leadership"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi installed a historic sceptre called "Sengol" next to the Lok Sabha Speaker's seat in the newly constructed Parliament building. The sceptre derives from the Tamil word "semmai", meaning "righteousness" and has played a key role in India's history. It was handed over to India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to mark the transfer of power from the British to Indians. The 'Sengol' was handed over to PM Modi by nearly 30 pontiffs from different Adheenams in Tamil Nadu.

"Sengol: The Symbol of Power Transfer in India's Political History"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress for not giving due respect to the Sengol, a symbol of the transfer of power from the British in 1947, which was kept on display as a "walking stick" at Anand Bhawan in Prayagraj. Modi received a Sengol from Tamil Nadu Adheenams and said that it should have been given its due respect after Independence. He also highlighted the important role of Tamil Nadu in India's independence struggle and said that the contribution of the people of Tamil Nadu was not given the importance it deserved. The Sengol will be installed in the new Parliament building, which will be inaugurated by Modi on Sunday.
