FBI Director Wray Raises Alarm on Terrorism Threats and Rising Antisemitism in the US

FBI Director Christopher Wray remained silent when asked if the United States is safer from foreign terror threats since President Biden took office. During a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing, Wray eventually stated that the terror threats have elevated, but did not directly address whether the country has become safer under Biden's watch. Wray warned that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has raised the threat of a terror attack against Americans to a "whole other level." The White House could not provide a clear answer when asked if terrorists have already crossed over the southern border amid the ongoing crisis and increased security threats in the Middle East.

Senate report exposes intelligence and law enforcement failures leading up to Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

A Senate Homeland Security Committee report released by Democrats details how the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and other federal agencies repeatedly ignored, downplayed, or failed to share warnings of violence before the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. The report, entitled "Planned in Plain Sight," highlights and adds to evidence already uncovered by the now-defunct House Jan. 6 committee, news reporting, and other congressional work to provide the most comprehensive picture to date of a cascading set of security and intelligence failures that culminated in the deadliest assault on the Capitol in centuries.
