Legal battles ensue over Washington state's new gun control measures.
Gun rights organizations, including the Second Amendment Foundation, are suing to prevent a new ban on the sale of semi-automatic rifles, including AR-15s, from going into effect in Washington state. The ban was signed into law by Governor Jay Inslee on Tuesday, with the aim of preventing mass shootings. The lawsuit argues that Washingtonians have a constitutional right to own these weapons and cites the Second and 14th amendments. Nine other states currently have similar bans.
