"Improbable Par Secures Major Spot on Golf's Longest Day"
Michael Brennan secured a spot in next week's U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club after hitting an improbable wedge shot from gnarly rough, inches above a greenside bunker, on a severe slope that offered almost no shot at the flag. Stanford’s Karl Vilips and Liberty’s Isaac Simmons had already locked up berths.
