
Houston Rap Royalty and Loved Ones Gather to Lay Big Pokey to Rest
Big Pokey, a legendary member of the Screwed Up Click and a prominent figure in Houston's rap scene, was laid to rest in a funeral attended by Texas rap royalty, including Paul Wall, Trae Tha Truth, Slim Thug, and others. The funeral service took place in Houston and was also attended by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Big Pokey, known for his contributions to the track "June 27th Freestyle" and his appearance on Paul Wall's hit single "Sittin' Sidewayz," passed away at the age of 48 after collapsing during a live performance.
