A skilled forklift operator in Akron, Ohio, foiled an attempted car theft by holding the suspect, Alexander Funk, 20 feet in the air inside the stolen SUV until police arrived. This was the third time Funk had attempted to steal from the scrapyard, and the staff was determined to prevent his escape. Funk has been charged with criminal trespassing and possessing criminal tools.
A decommissioned tank was stolen from an army training base in northern Israel and later found in a scrapyard 20km away.
