Booz Allen secures $630 million contract for U.S. Space Force satellite systems support
The U.S. Space Force has awarded a $630 million contract to Booz Allen Hamilton for the systems engineering and integration of satellite systems used for missile warning, environmental monitoring, and surveillance. Booz Allen will support satellite programs run by the Space Systems Command's space sensing program office, including the Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and legacy constellations. The company will be responsible for integrating different elements of major space sensing programs and applying artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to help operators analyze data. The contract was initially put on hold due to protests but was cleared to move forward in June 2023.
