Multiple Former George Santos Fundraisers Plead Guilty to Wire Fraud and Impersonation Charges
Samuel Miele, a former campaign fundraiser for New York Republican Rep. George Santos, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and admitted to committing access device fraud totaling about $100,000 in losses. Miele had been charged with impersonating a high-ranking congressional aide while soliciting contributions for Santos' campaign. This is the second guilty plea from a former associate of Santos' campaign, following his former campaign treasurer who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud. Santos himself has pleaded not guilty to charges of wire fraud, money laundering, making false statements, and theft of public funds.
