Samsung Food: The AI-Powered Cooking Assistant and Recipe App
Samsung has unveiled Samsung Food, a revamped version of the Whisk app, which aims to unite the various aspects of smart cooking, including recipes, food, and kitchen appliances. The app allows users to scan ingredients and offers tailored recipes, syncs cooking settings with compatible appliances, and manages recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists. Samsung Food leverages generative AI to create meal plans and grocery lists based on collected recipes. The app currently works with the Samsung Bespoke wall oven but is expected to expand compatibility with other appliances through Samsung's role in the Home Connectivity Alliance. Future updates will include integrations with non-Samsung appliances and AI-powered features such as health-based meal planning and food recognition. The development of Samsung Food represents a step towards interoperability and the realization of the smart kitchen's potential.
