Cleveland Guardians demote pitcher Zach Plesac to Triple-A.
The Cleveland Guardians have optioned struggling starter Zach Plesac to Triple-A Columbus and will activate Sam Hentges from the injured list. Plesac has a 7.59 ERA with a 1.97 WHIP, 14 strikeouts, and five walks in 21 1/3 innings this season. The move was expedited by Hentges' return and the need for a roster spot. Plesac will need to show significant improvement in Columbus to work his way back into the Guardians' rotation, which now features several young arms.
