Sacramento Republic FC has announced plans for a new 12,000-seat soccer stadium in downtown Sacramento's Railyards, set to open in 2027, with financial backing from the Wilton Rancheria tribe, now the majority owner of the team. The $217 million project includes an entertainment district and could expand to meet MLS standards, potentially aiding Sacramento's bid for an MLS franchise. This marks the first time a Native American tribe has majority ownership of a men's professional sports team in North America.
