Russian Man Convicted for Boarding LAX Flight Without Passport or Ticket
A Russian man, Sergey Ochigava, has been found guilty by a US federal court of being a stowaway on a Scandinavian Airlines flight from Denmark to Los Angeles last November. Ochigava boarded the flight without a ticket, passport, or visa, and faces up to five years in prison. He was arrested at the LA airport after officials could not find any record of his booking or visa application. Ochigava had managed to bypass security at Copenhagen Airport and board the flight undetected, and upon arrival in LA, he was unable to provide any official travel documents.
