Republicans dominate Louisiana election, securing all statewide offices
Republicans have secured all statewide offices in Louisiana after winning the runoff races for attorney general, secretary of state, and treasurer. This marks the first time since 2015 that conservatives have held all of Louisiana's statewide offices. The Republican success comes after the party already secured the governor's mansion and holds a supermajority in the state legislature. The newly elected officials include Liz Murrill as attorney general, Nancy Landry as secretary of state, and John Fleming as treasurer. Former President Donald Trump endorsed the GOP candidates, who faced little resistance from the Democratic party.
