Holger Rune Continues to Upset Novak Djokovic in Rome.

Holger Rune, a 20-year-old tennis player, defeated top-seeded Novak Djokovic for the second time in six months at the Rome Masters quarterfinals. Despite the match being filled with psychodrama, including tantrums and medical attention, Rune's rare blend of foot speed and groundstroke power served him well on the cold damp clay. Djokovic offered his usual gracious handshake in defeat and had no tips for Rune's career, saying "so far he's doing very well."

Djokovic and Norrie Clash at Italian Open, Accusations Fly.

Novak Djokovic accused Cameron Norrie of "not fair play" after the British No1 landed a direct hit on his body with an overhead smash and repeatedly celebrated in his face during their match in Rome. Djokovic won the match 6-3, 6-4, but was perplexed by Norrie's conduct throughout the game. Despite the incident, Norrie and Djokovic shook hands at the end of the match, but it was not the warmest of meetings at the net, and there was virtually no eye-contact.

Carlos Alcaraz climbs ATP rankings and defends Madrid title.

Carlos Alcaraz won his fourth Masters 1000 title by defeating Jan-Lennard Struff in the Madrid Masters final. He will debut at the Rome Masters and take the ATP throne away from Novak Djokovic after the tournament, regardless of their results. Alcaraz secured his tenth ATP title and became the second player with back-to-back Caja Magica crowns after Rafael Nadal.
