"Pinkbike Poll: Climb Switch Usage Survey Results"

Pinkbike's new RockShox Flight Attendant XC suspension system automatically switches between three compression damping modes, sparking a discussion on the value of a lockout. While it may offer a modest advantage for professional cross-country racers, its benefits for regular riders on long climbs are debatable. RockShox Unveils Advanced Fork Technology for 2023.

RockShox has unveiled its 2023 forks, which include new air springs, dampers, and Buttercups. The Charger 3 damper has moved the high-speed and low-speed compression damping circuits from in-parallel to in-series, allowing for a lot of low-speed damping force while still having the high-speed relatively open. Buttercups are rubber elastomers that sit at the bottom of the spring and damper shafts, allowing a little movement between the lowers and upper tubes without having to force the spring and damper seals to slide as well. The Debonair+ air spring has a softer "touchdown feel" than the previous generation of forks.
