2024 Republican Presidential Debate: Who Makes the Cut?
As the first Republican presidential primary debate approaches, candidates are scrambling to meet the criteria set by the Republican National Committee (RNC). To qualify, candidates must reach at least 1% in multiple eligible polls, gather at least 40,000 donors, and sign a pledge committing to supporting the ultimate GOP nominee. Some candidates who have qualified include Doug Burgum, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, and Vivek Ramaswamy. However, candidates like Francis Suarez, Chris Christie, Mike Pence, and Donald Trump have either not signed the RNC loyalty pledge or have not announced their qualification. Former Rep. Will Hurd, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and conservative talk radio show host Larry Elder have not yet met the criteria for the debate.
