Red Bull took a calculated risk by pitting Max Verstappen for fresh tires in the closing stages of the Red Bull Ring race, despite his comfortable lead, in order to secure the fastest lap point. Team boss Christian Horner had faith in his team's ability to execute a flawless pitstop and believed it was worth the risk. Verstappen, who was focused on grabbing the extra point, saw it as a low-risk move.
