Multiple Game Studios Experience Significant Layoffs, Including Crypt of the NecroDancer and FaZe Clan

Brace Yourself Games, the developer of Cadence of Hyrule, has confirmed layoffs affecting up to half of its workforce. The company stated that it was providing severance packages and support services to those impacted. Work on the new game Rift of the NecroDancer and the Crypt of the NecroDancer: Synchrony DLC will continue, but some unannounced games have reportedly been shelved. Former senior producer Crystal Savin mentioned on social media that about half of the developer's workforce has been cut.

Rift of the NecroDancer to Dance onto Nintendo Switch

Rift of the NecroDancer, a Crypt of the NecroDancer spin-off, has been confirmed for release on the Nintendo Switch later this year. The game features lane-based combat and five Rhythm Heaven-style minigames, all set to a brand new soundtrack from Danny Baranowsky and friends. Players will help Cadence navigate the modern world while repairing the rifts that have torn her life apart. The game will also include mod support, online leaderboards, and more.
