Florida Republicans seek to ease DeSantis' path to 2024 presidential bid.
A Republican Florida state senator has filed an amendment to an elections bill that could eliminate the "resign-to-run" law's requirement for public officials seeking the office of President or Vice President of the United States. The amendment would take effect on July 1 if passed. Governor Ron DeSantis, who is currently on an international business trade mission, has not yet announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.
