U2 has reimagined 40 of their best-known songs in a new album called "Songs of Surrender," using pandemic downtime to record much of the music at home. The Edge was the driving force behind the project, using primarily keyboards, acoustic guitar, and dulcimer. The album features reworked versions of classic U2 songs, with lyrics often rewritten and arrangements changed to create a more intimate sound. The band is fairly democratic in taking songs from throughout its catalog, although 1981′s “October” album and 2009′s “No Line on the Horizon” are not represented.
