Justin Ishbia Nears Deal to Acquire Chicago White Sox
Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf has reached an agreement with billionaire Justin Ishbia that allows Reinsdorf to sell the team to Ishbia between 2029 and 2033, with Ishbia having the option to acquire full control after 2034. Reinsdorf, who has owned the team since 1981, will remain the day-to-day decision maker until the transfer occurs. Ishbia, also involved with the Phoenix Suns and Nashville SC, has held a minority stake in the White Sox since 2021.
