"Meta's Ray-Ban Stories: A Smart Glasses Flop with 90% User Abandonment"
Over 90% of consumers have stopped using Meta's Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses, with only around 27,000 out of 300,000 units sold still being regularly used each month. Technical problems, including audio issues and poor battery life, have contributed to a disappointing user experience. Meta's Reality Labs division, which oversees the project, has already lost nearly $8 billion in the first half of 2023, and executives expect further losses in 2024. Despite this, Meta plans to release a second generation of the smart glasses next year.
