Security researchers Rapid7 have identified a critical Android vulnerability in OnePlus devices running OxygenOS 12 that allows malicious apps to read SMS and MMS messages without user permission, potentially bypassing multi-factor authentication and exposing sensitive data. Despite multiple attempts, OnePlus has not responded to security disclosures, leading Rapid7 to publicly disclose the flaw, which affects numerous devices and versions.
The Boston Bruins announced that individual game tickets for all rounds of the 2024 Boston Bruins Playoffs, presented by Rapid7, at TD Garden will go on sale tomorrow at 3 p.m. Single game suites for 18-60 fans will also be available to rent, with an exclusive presale for certain ticket holders. The dates and times for the playoff games will be determined by the NHL once the final seeding for the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs is set. Additionally, an all-new Boston Bruins Heritage Hall will be open during the playoffs, and a refund policy is in place for unplayed games.
Cybersecurity giant Rapid7 is laying off 18% of its workforce, affecting over 400 employees globally, as part of a restructuring effort aimed at improving operational efficiencies and reducing costs. The company did not disclose the exact number of employees affected but estimates severance and other costs to be between $24 million and $32 million. Rapid7 also plans to permanently close certain office locations, incurring an additional $4 million in costs. The layoffs come as the company reported second-quarter revenues of $190.4 million, up 14% year-on-year, but with a deeper loss of $67 million. Rapid7 is among several cybersecurity firms that have announced layoffs this year.
