Federal Inspectors Find Unsafe Locomotives and Rail Cars, Blame UP for Neglecting Repairs
Federal inspectors have found serious safety concerns with Union Pacific's locomotives and rail cars, with over 70% of locomotives and 20% of rail cars being defective, twice the national average. The company has not taken action to correct the defects, and inspectors were often told to leave the yard when they found issues.
