Videos circulating on social media claiming to show Rafael's Iron Beam laser destroying missiles during the Israel-Hamas war are actually altered clips from the military simulation video game Arma 3. The low-resolution footage, falsely presented as real-world combat, has been used to spread misinformation. Bohemia Interactive, the publisher of Arma 3, has warned that its game is being used for this purpose and is actively cooperating with media outlets and fact-checkers to combat the spread of fake news footage. Rafael's Iron Beam, a high-energy laser designed to neutralize rockets and unmanned aerial systems, is expected to be operational in 2024 or 2025.
